Welcome to James Jenson Photography!

Photographer James W. Jenson, Jr., a Denver, Colorado native, picked up his first camera in the 1980s as a hobby—capturing images of flowers, airplanes, clouds and sunsets. “The usual suspects,” Jenson says.  At about that same time he was fortunate to meet a professional photographer who mentored Jenson, encouraging him to take seriously the idea of a photographic career. By 1990, Jenson was hooked on architectural images, fascinated with structural elements that populate the urban landscape. By 1992, he has found his artistic niche, founding James W. Jenson Photography, specializing in architectural, construction, engineering, and transportation photography.  Since then, Jenson has developed an extensive portfolio of professional work.

He is regularly engaged by general contractors, owner interests and developers to photograph commercial construction sites—sometimes recording the entire process from the first shovel full of dirt to occupancy. His eye for transportation photography is unparalleled, turning simple bridges, commuter rails and footpaths into sheer visual art renderings. His keen understanding of engineering, the way things work, are built and come apart, is reflected in his photography at every level.

“Capturing images in the architectural, construction, engineering, and transportation industries has always fascinated me,” Jenson adds. ”I really enjoy working with natural light, color, design, patterns, and textures.  I look for ways to creatively capture the most unique design elements of a client’s project. The end result of photographing a project is to provide to my clients a collection of beautiful images that showcase their projects.”

Jenson’s home base is Denver, CO. His mission: To provide clients with stunning photographs of their projects in a timely and cost effective manner.
